Thoughts from Marjorie Hinckley

My ward Relief Society presidencies just gave me this thought and I loved it so much I had to share.

"Fifty was my favorite age. It takes about that long to learn to quit competing-to be yourself and settle down to living. It is the age I would like to be through all eternity! We each do the best we can. My best may not be as good as your best, but it's my best. The fact is that we know when we are doing our best and when we are not. If we are not doing our best, it leaves us with a gnawing hunger and frustration. But when we do our level best, we experience a peace. We are all in this together. We need each other. Oh, how we need each other. Those of us who are old need you who are young. And, hopefully, you who are young need some of us who are old. It is a sociological fact that women need women. We need deep and satisfying and loyal friendships with each other. These friendships are a necessary source of sustenance. We need to renew our faith every day. We need to lock arms and help build the kingdom so that it will roll forth and fill the whole earth."

I hope you are now saying WOW! She is definitely someone I look up to. I hope you learned from her thoughts like I did. It was nice to have the reminder that I am a daughter of God who loves me, and if I am trying my best that is all I can do and he will help me with anything and everything else I stand in need of.

I love you all!

What a great quote! Thanks for sharing! Also, the trip to Hawaii looked fabulous. Sean and I went on vacation last year and we talk about how much we want to go back! Glad you had a good time.

That was soo good! I am not too old but I already see a huge difference in my view of myself and life in general from my early 20's. I was so lame then...hahah. I love sis.Hinkley, she was always so funny and wise at the same time! Thanks for posting that!
